Canandaigua City Pier, NY

The north end of Canandaigua Lake has a group of boat houses that date to early in the 1900s. They are the subject of many artists, and Laura is no different. She says "Ive always been taken by the boathouses, and I knew it was just a matter of when I would draw them." This drawing was included in the book "Scenes of Monroe & Ontario Counties Past & Present; Featuring Canandaigua Lake and Squaw Island", as part of the show by the same name in the Mill Gallery in Honoeye Falls, NY during the spring and summer of 2003. It was featured on the cover of the weekend section of the Canandaigua "Daily Messenger" on May 1, 2003. The drawing, selected by the staff of the Messenger, was noted as representative of the art show, which featured artists of the last 100 years in the area. Based on a photograph by Tiffany Benedetto.
